At Himnia Obstruction Lighting, we're committed to creating safe environments for both ground and air traffic. One of our projects brought us to the iconic West Cairo Power Station, where we had the opportunity to enhance safety measures with a state-of-the-art aircraft warning lighting system.

Tackling a Unique Challenge

The West Cairo Power Station, with its towering 150-meter chimneys, presented a unique challenge. High structures like these pose potential hazards for aircraft, making it crucial to have proper aircraft warning lights in place. Our team of expert engineers took on the task of designing and installing a bespoke obstruction lighting system specifically for this structure.

Designing for Safety and Compliance

Designing an effective aircraft warning light system involves more than just installing lights; it's about creating a solution that meets all regulatory standards and ensures the highest level of safety. For this project, we collaborated closely with the ECAA and the ICAO. This partnership was key to understanding and meeting the specific compliance requirements for the region.

Through this collaboration, we were able to tailor an aircraft warning light system that not only met but exceeded the regulatory expectations. The result? A comprehensive system that provides clear visibility for pilots, marking the power station’s chimneys so they can safely navigate around.
